National Conference Of State Legislatures

Since 1975, NCSL has been the champion of state legislatures. They’ve helped states remain strong and independent by giving them the tools, information and resources to craft the best solutions to difficult problems. The Legislative Summit is the biggest and best gathering of state legislators and staff in the county. Every year NCSL holds a summit for approximately 5,000 legislators and staff with over 300 speakers and 50 educational sessions. This August, they engaged Paulette Wolf Events to produce the social events surrounding the conference as well as provide volunteer management and ground transportation for the NCSL summit. The opening night networking reception was a celebration of Chicago Sports. Prior to the reception, Wayne Messmer, the frequent singer of the National Anthem for the Chicago Cubs, kicked off the Opening General Session with his stirring rendition of the song. Later, just as the Opening Session adjourned, attendees were surprised as a 70-piece marching band from Kenwood Academy, which played through the room, performing a medley of sports-themed standards. They then led the guests from the session ballroom to the opening night reception where they were greeted by the mascots from nearly all of Chicago’s professional sports teams. READ MORE

Corporate Anniversary Event ~ Wild West Style

2015 marked the 18^th anniversary of PEAK6, a Chicago-based asset risk management company. Because of crazy schedules and specific talent interests, we planned this year’s event in just 3 weeks. This much-anticipated annual event for 700 employees, clients and friends took place at The Geraghty. The vast space, extensive technology and production elements transported the guests into a country chic Wild West rock town. Cowboys astride live horses greeted guests as they entered to the sounds of a fiddler fiddling. They then had to go through the gun inspection station where “county sheriffs” searched them & had their weapons checked. We created a western world that took the guests back to a time of gun spinning, trick roping and all things Wild West. Highlights of the evening included jaw-dropping décor, themed food & beverages, a whiskey tasting station, a mechanical bull, a saloon setting with poker tables, a virtual shooting range, the 2015 World Champion Flair Bartender showcasing his craft and the chance to be jailed with Wild West robbers. Peak6 Anniversary Event

We have been producing events for PEAK6, a Chicago-based asset risk management company for over 10 years. Their anniversary event is always the crown-jewel of their social calendar. Each year we are tasked with creating a theme and weaving that theme through all elements of the event – the venue, décor & name entertainment as well as the food & beverage. Coming up with the theme is the initial challenge each year, as the aim is always to outdo the previous year’s event. The next major challenge is coming up with the venue. As the company has continued to grow, so has the event, making it difficult to find a venue that can accommodate the guest count, as well as the extensive décor and production needed for BIG name talent (which is always a surprise). For the 2014 event, we created a James Bond theme at the Redmoon Event Venue in Pilsen. The venue has a barren warehouse feel and features high ceilings and an open floorplan, which lent itself well to a Bond-themed setting, essentially providing a blank canvas for us to employ various décor, technology & production elements.
